About Us

Alta Mira Dressage is owned and operated by Anne Cole. Anne is originally from Seattle, Washington, and relocated to sunny Santa Barbara after graduating Cum Laude from Chapman University in 2020 with her Bachelor's degree in Communication Studies and Minor in Art History. She began riding at the age of four through her mother, a lifelong equestrian, and was hooked!

Anne was a member of Pony Club throughout her childhood and discovered her passion for dressage during that time. She has since earned both her USDF bronze and silver medals, and ridden with members of the top of our sport including; Sarah Tubman, Amanda Olson, Charlotte Bredahl, Axel Steiner, Sabine Schut-Kery, Dennis Collin, and Henrik Johansen, among others. She was a working student for one of the top sales barns on the West Coast and has gained experience working for multiple dressage and jumper trainers in both California and Washington States. Anne recently completed an apprenticeship in Washington State where she deepened her knowledge of sales and training of high performance dressage horses.
